Who We Are
Jeff and Miranda Smith
Founders of the FINancial company, Jeff and Miranda met in 1999. Miranda was Vice President of a Telecommunications Company and Jeff the owner of a Martial Arts School. Jeff also coached and competed in his sport at multiple World Championships. In 2001, Jeff entered the financial services industry and brought his coaching experience to families and businesses. In 2006, Miranda left her job and became a full-time partner with Jeff making it a true family business. They live in Stoney Creek and have two children, Alexis and Vaunn.
Like most people, they were not educated about money when they were young, so they understand the challenges people experience. Money management is not taught in schools and parents can only teach what they know. Jeff and Miranda have dedicated their lives to gifting the power of information and education so the families they serve can have a better life.
They believe in speaking the truth and treating you like family. When it comes to making serious financial decisions, you don’t need a sales person, you need an advocate for your financial well-being.
Sean Desjardins
Sean Desjardins joined the Financial Company family in 2021, as our Champion of client care.
Sean’s previous 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry has prepared him for the role he plays with us by ensuring that the families and business owners we work succeed.
Sean began his relationship with us as a client back in 2012. Honestly one of the most curious clients we have ever had, which is the main reason, when the opportunity came, we approached him to begin the next chapter of his professional career with us. So glad we did.
As Sean continues to expand his knowledge and gain experience with our team, he is looking forward to being Mutual Fund licensed and taking on the goal of having his own clients.
